Venus Flytrap are the most popular Carnivorous Plants.
They are fascinating to watch and are favorite subjects for science projects. They are a wonderful hobby for anyone.
I have been asked some strange questions about the eating habits of Venus Flytrap...and no, there are no Venus Flytrap that can catch dogs or small children.
In fact, they aren't capable of consuming anything larger than perhaps a cricket and that would be a feast that would last for a long time. So
they are quite safe as first pets for your youngsters.

The "Typical" Venus Flytrap |
|
Here we have an example of a "Typical" Venus Flyrap. The "Typical" doesn't mean typical, this is just the name of variety.
This is a very hardy, strong flytrap. It grows in an upright position with the leaves reaching for the sun. This Venus flytrap has the
longest leaves, relatively, of any of the flytraps.
The spikes on the traps are again the eyelash type and the plants stay a nice light green color.
These flytrap are not as flashy as some of the other varieties but they seem to be the easiest to grow. Which is probably why they are usually
less expensive to buy, they are just more prolific.
